On March 23rd, 2026, Chad Holloway shared some tragic news: David Sklansky, one of the most famous players and authors in poker history, suddenly passed away as a result of heart failure at the age of 78.
While his last media mentions weren’t all that positive, Sklansky has put poker in debt with his contribution in both theory and mathematical approach. His poker books influenced more than a few generations of players with one of them being a game-changer: The Theory of Poker.
