Three-time NBA All-Star and poker player Gilbert Arenas was arrested on Wednesday on a federal indictment alleging that he operated illegal poker games out of a mansion in Los Angeles.
According to a press release about the indictment from the United States Attorney’s Office Central District of California, Arenas allegedly “rented out an Encino mansion he owned for the purpose of hosting high-stakes illegal poker games” from September 2021 to July 2022.
Also charged in the indictment, which was unsealed on Wednesday, are alleged co-conspirators Evgenni Tourevski, Allan Austria, Yarin Cohen, Ievgen Krachun and Yevgeni Gershman, a suspected organized crime figure from Israel.
